‘One Day’ by David Nicholls – mini book review

Blurb from Goodreads

15th July 1988: Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways.

So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that?

And every year that follows?

My Review

This is one of those books that I just could not put down. It was such a page turner and I completely lost myself in the story of Emma and Dexter. It was nigh on perfect, and both broke my heart and made it soar in all the right ways. If you are in the mood for a modern love story with a little more grit than most then I highly recommend this.

four and a half stars rounded to five

The film adaptation isn’t a patch on the book. It leaves out much too much and I would only recommend watching it after you read the book.
But Jim Sturgess is such a cutie!
