My Review

This is one of those books that I just could not put down. It was such a page turner and I completely lost myself in the story of Emma and Dexter.

It was nigh on perfect, and both broke my heart and made it soar in all the right ways. The storytelling was utterly gripping and the characters completely compelling.

I loved the narrative device of just focusing on the events of one day each year as it really helped to drive the plot forward in a pleasing fashion.

If you are in the mood for a modern love story with a little more grit than most then I highly recommend this.

BTW. The film adaptation isn’t a patch on the book. It leaves out much too much and I would only recommend watching it after you read the book.

But Jim Sturgess is such a cutie!
