Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme that was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. The meme is pretty easy to follow, to participate simply choose a random book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it!
This week’s book:
Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour
Blurb from Goodreads: A love letter to the craft and romance of film and fate in front of—and behind—the camera from the award-winning author of Hold Still.
A wunderkind young set designer, Emi has already started to find her way in the competitive Hollywood film world.
Emi is a film buff and a true romantic, but her real-life relationships are a mess. She has desperately gone back to the same girl too many times to mention. But then a mysterious letter from a silver screen legend leads Emi to Ava. Ava is unlike anyone Emi has ever met. She has a tumultuous, not-so-glamorous past, and lives an unconventional life. She’s enigmatic…. She’s beautiful. And she is about to expand Emi’s understanding of family, acceptance, and true romance.
Why I have not read it yet
I blame the Goodreads book group I am in!!!
I have wanted to read this book for so long because I absolutely adored ‘Hold Still’ by the same author. I found that book to be written so beautifully and it was also incredibly touching.
As for ‘Everything Leads To You’, well I always thought this would make a really good book group discussion read because there seem to be a lot less f/f YA books than m/m. And I think it could be a book that would give us a lot of talking points. But sadly every time I have nominated this book it has been beaten in the poll that decides what we will read next. So I think eventually I am just going to have to read it on my own!
Have you read this book? If so what did you think of it? Or have you read any other books by Nina LaCour? Let me know in the comments below.
