How A Little Haze Book Blog came to be
Since it isn’t too long ago since I wrote my first post for The Blogger Recognition Award (read it here) I am going to change this up a little and talk about the difference blogging has made to my life in the short few months I have been blogging. I started my blog on the 21st June, 2019 and in that time my life feels richer. Blogging has given some happy structure to my life; as you all may have noticed I am quite a regular blogger and really enjoy organising and scheduling my posts a week in advance (and sometimes even longer than that lol!)
Blogging has also provided me with this fabulous corner of the internet where I just feel free to be myself. I feel like I it has given me a voice and an opportunity to express my bookish opinions of which I have a great many!
It has also introduced me to some great blogging friends that have really made me feel welcome in the blogosphere. And I think that is what is the best part of blogging. It is the engagement with other people. The sharing of our thoughts and opinions. And the knowledge that there are other people out there who are as bonkers about books as I am.
Advice for new bloggers
My advice really has not changed much. The most important thing with blogging is to just be yourself. Write blog posts about what you want to write about. When you are passionate about a topic then other people will feel that passion and emotion come across in your posts and they will naturally reach out to you.
As for some more practical tips… SCHEDULE!!! People always wonder how it is I blog so frequently and that is down to the fabulous WordPress scheduling option. Every Sunday I take a little while to sit down with my laptop and prepare all my posts for the coming week. If I depended on writing posts on a daily basis I just know it would feel too stressful for me.
Another tip for new bloggers is to take part in Bookish Memes and Tags every week. This is a great way to generate interesting content and gets you into the mindset for regular blogging.
And lastly reach out and chat. Comment on other bloggers’ blog posts. Share your thoughts and reactions to their posts and this will lead to greater interaction and hopefully foster friendships.
So if you are a new blogger and have somehow found your way to this post then comment on it. Tell me who you are and I’ll follow you back. Let this be the first step in a new blogging friendship.
