Weekly Update Dec 9th-15th

General Update

Hello everyone!

Oh this week… what a mess!!! After last week and getting to blog hop so much I should have known that that would not be repeated this week!!! So a combination of broadband connectivity problems and just being rather unwell has meant that I have not gotten a chance to get around to everyone’s blogs this past week… FINGERS CROSSED NEXT WEEK WILL BE BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I read this week

I read four books this weekโ€ฆ

I read two YA books: Light Years by Kass Morgan and its sequel Supernova which were a lot of trashy space opera fun.

And I also read two children’s books: A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. I have recently rediscovered a love for reading some children’s fiction when I am feeling quite unwell. I have found that there is a unique sort of magic in childhood reading and it can be very healing during pain flare ups.

I will have reviews of each of these books up later this week.

What I am currently reading

I am finally reading Frankly in Love by David Yoon!!! I am so excited for this book… PLEASE DO NOT LET ME DOWN!!!!!!!!!

Book reviews

The following are the book reviews that I posted to my blog this week:

Book tags and other miscellany

And so that wraps up another week on my blog! Hereโ€™s to a great week ahead of us all.

  1. Sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling rather unwell this last week (or for a while now) but I hope this week gets better for you! Take care of yourself, my friend ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž
Also, I hope Frankly doesn’t let you down!!! I’m keen to hear your thoughts on it ๐Ÿ™‚ I love The Little Prince. I actually like to watch the movie when I’m feeling a bit slumpy (which I currently do actually… might need to put it on! Lol)!

  2. Aww I hope youโ€™re feeling better soon Emer. Feeling unwell always takes the energy out of me and blogging can be hard to keep up with during that, so itโ€™s no worries! Take care and rest up ๐Ÿ’• Iโ€™m really keen to try A Boy Called Christmas soon. Iโ€™m in the mood for some festive cheer and nothing does that better this childrenโ€™s Christmas books and films!

  4. The Little Prince is such a beautiful book, looking forward to your review of it. Also highly recommend the movie, it really highlights the universal and timeless qualities of the story in an interesting way. So glad you read this book. ๐Ÿ˜€ Also hope your broadband stays stable, it’s really frustrating when you get sub-par service from it.
