General Update
Hello all!
Christmas has come and gone for another year. I haven’t been too well this week but Christmas worked its magic and I did have a lovely Christmas Day with family; was all just very chill. And I got a book for Christmas woo!!! My friend Gabby sent me the gender swapped Twilight which I am so thrilled about…yes this blog is a safe Twilight space where we all rave about the majesty of the books (except Breaking Dawn because I can’t with Renesmee) and the perfection that was the films. Perfection means the same as supremely cheesy right?!?!?!?! Because I am ALL about that Twilight cheese!!!
I’ve seen lots of people post about their favourite books of the year and even the decade and I will be doing similarly on Tuesday as the TTT theme for this week is fav books of 2019…. But I am FAR more excited to sit down and write a post about all the books I rated one star this year…. Yes I am that terrible person that gets immense joy from ranting about books I do not like. So I will most likely draft that someday this week to post in January.
What I read this week
A mixed bag of a week really.
I started with Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol (and other Christmas books) which I loved. Then I read Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett…didn’t go so well! As a palate cleanser I then read two children’s novels: Secret Friend by Elizabeth Laird and We’re Not From Here by Geoff Rodkey. Reviews of all will be scheduled later this week (except for Secret Friends; as that book was quite brief my review was equally succinct and I will not be posting it to my blog. But you can read it HERE on Goodreads.)
What I am currently reading
In the early hours of this morning I started Richard Ayoade’s latest ‘Ayoade on Top’ and I am LOVING it. It looks almost certain to be a five star read…a four and a half at the very least. I’m hoping to finish it tonight after writing this blog post and drafting some others.
Book reviews
The following are the book reviews that I posted to my blog this week:
- The Angel’s Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
- The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
- Unwind by Neal Shusterman
- Frankly in Love by David Yoon
- Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu
- Beginner’s Guide: Love and Other Chemical Reactions by Six de los Reyes
- Lullaby (aka The Perfect Nanny) by Leila Slimani
- A Girl’s Best Friend by Lindsey Kelk
Book tags and other miscellany
- Goodreads Monday: Lord of the Flies
- Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Hope to Find Under My Tree
- Wrap Up: Blogmas 2019
- Book Tag:Β Twelve Days of Christmas
- Book Tag: The Christmas Carol Book Tag
And that wraps up another week on my blog!!!Β
Hope everyone enjoys the New Year celebrations this coming week! Here’s to a peaceful and happy 2020 for us all.

Amazing wrap-up! I am not a fan of twilight, but as a teen I loved it and totally felt the same way about Breaking Dawn and the imprinting π¬πGreat post, you had such a successful week/month!! ππ

Oh I unashamedly love all things twilight. It’s just such a cheesy pile of ridiculousness that I can’t help but be besotted with it even to this day!!! πππππ

π That is fair enough, while I no longer am a fan I do still love Vampires though! π

I also really can’t stand Breaking Dawn (book) especially with Renesmee (Why would Bella name a child that. She really comes up with terrible names) and the whole imprinting thing between the two. I like the movies a lot

Oh the imprinting….. I just wanna be like noooooo!!! Stop!!!!! But yet in the films it’s kind of hilarious… I just love twilight. The most batshit books ever πππ

So uhm, what is a gender swapped Twilight? Like Edward’s perspective? Is that a new book? You’ve intrigued me… haha! π

The gender-swapped Twilight has to be Life and Death

Oh it’s basically twilight retold but Edward’s vampire character is a girl and Bella’s character becomes a boy… WHAT A LOL RIGHT?!?!? I just love how ridiculous twilight is. It gives me such joy πππ
