I saw this tag on Lori’s Bookshelf Reads and thought it would be fun way to look back on my year of blogging in 2019… well half year since I only started my blog at the end of June 2019.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK REVIEW?
I’m going to choose two because I am torn!!!
So my favourite five star review is for the terrific Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz. Honestly you guys this book is sooooooo good!! I really cannot recommend it more highly.
And my favourite one star review is for the ridiculously over-hyped David Yoon’s Frankly in Love. My god that book was terrible but when it started mentioning a girl’s hymen after sex I knew it had gone too far… Dreadful read. Fun review to write though…. Eeeek!!!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE DISCUSSION POST?
Well there’s a question further down the list about what is my favourite post full stop this year and that happens to be a discussion post…
I’ll choose my second favourite discussion post for this question and that was a piece I wrote on reading challenges and why they may not be suited to all readers. I know they certainly are not for me. You can read the full post HERE.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FUN POST?
I did a post about my favourite types of music to listen to while reading and that was a lot of fun to write and compile the music for. I even created a YouTube playlist to go along with the post. You can read the whole thing HERE and listen to my playlist HERE.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK/BOOKISH PHOTO?
I am such a flaky Bookstagram person! I really am not that creative when it comes to composing a photo for my bookstagram account but I do like this one:
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ORIGINAL IDEA/BLOG POST?
To celebrate my 100th blog post I wrote about why it is that I love reading. It was a deeply personal piece and I loved just getting to express how much books mean to me. You can read that HERE.
WHAT’S YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE BLOG POST YOU WROTE THIS YEAR?
My favourite blog post from 2019 was the blog post that was closest to my heart. It was when I wrote about illness representation in books. This topic means a lot to me because I live with chronic illness. I have been unwell for the majority of my life and when I read careless illness representation in books it hurts me on a deep level. So getting to write a post about that subject was the best thing I have done on my blog since I started it. I got wonderful feedback too. It truly was heart warming to read all of your comments and to know that my words meant something. Going forward into 2020 I will still endeavour to blog about illness representation and will continue to read and review books containing such. Because I know I am just one person but maybe my voice will be heard by the right author or someone involved in books in some way. And maybe reading my words will cause them to think a little harder about how they are treating the issue of illness representation in books.

HAVE YOU REACHED ANY BLOGGING ACHIEVEMENTS THIS YEAR?
Many achievements!!! In 2019 I published over 400 posts (I know, I really got bitten HARD by the blogging bug) and currently have over 700 followers which is entirely baffling. It is incredibly humbling to know that my little blog is resonating with that many people. I am truly grateful and each of you have really helped me to feel like I have found a place I truly belong.
Here is to the next full year of blogging! May we all find peace and contentment through our engagement with each other, and hopefully read some wonderful books along the way.
Since it is no longer 2019 and I am rather late posting this tag I shall not formally tag anyone but please feel free to consider yourself tagged if you so wish.
