The Sunshine Blogger Award (XVII)

Hey everyone!

I’m back with another edition of The Sunshine Blogger Award. This time I was nominated by my fabulous friend Lauren @Narrative Paradise… back in February….. I KNOW!!!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!

But thank you so much oh dearest and most fabulous Lauren. Everyone go follow Lauren’s blog NOW because omg she is one of the most hilarious and brilliantly honest people out there.

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

How does it work?

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Questions set by Lauren

1: Describe your ideal book that hasn’t been written yet.

It’s about me and how fabulous I am!!!! #humble

2: What’s your zodiac sign? Do you feel it fits your actual personality?

LOL no! I don’t do astrology with the whole it ain’t scientific lark… Sorry Lauren ooops!

3: What are your feelings on glitter?

I like to enhance my natural sparkling personality….

4: What do you tend to prioritise most in your life? (e.g., family, mental health, financial stability, etc.)

FAMILY FIRST!!!!

5: Would you rather sit in traffic or take a longer route?

Now you don’t say if either of these takes more or less time so how can I answer???? If it takes less time to take the longer route then I am going to do that. If they take the same amount of time then I am going to sit in my car, knock off the engine and try to conserve fuel and wait.

6: If you had a chance to go to an awards show, would you? Why or why not?

Does a free dress come with this opportunity? And some nice jewelry? And a person to do my hair and make-up? Girl has gotta look her best! But sure I guess. I mean awards shows are inherently ridiculous but I wouldn’t mind seeing a few celebs up close and personal.

7: You’re at the awards show and you’ve smuggled some food in your purse. What kind of food is it?

Tea. I know that’s a drink but I have the sneaking suspicion this is an American awards show and I love you but y’all don’t know how to make proper tea in America!!!

8: What kind of hat fits your personality best?

Kate Winslet’s hat in Titanic. The one she wears boarding the ship.

It’s entirely understated like myself. Here’s a gif to illustrate its subtleness…

9: Have you ever wanted a fictional character’s outfit for yourself? (As seen in a movie/show, on a book cover, described on a page, etc.)

Yes. The aforementioned hat from Titanic!!!

10: Does your favourite type of fictional ending (happy, bittersweet, or dark) match your favorite type of chocolate (white, milk, or dark)?

I like milk chocolate best but I like open ended books???

11: Do you eat a special type of food when you’re sick? If yes, what kind?

Well I’m chronically ill so every day is a sick day LMAO!!! But when I am feeling weaker than weak I eat cereal. Bowls of Weetabix and Rice Krispies are frequently my go to dinners when I am very poorly.

And those are my answers! What do you guys think of them? Do you agree/disagree with any of them?

Next up I am going to tag some blogs to receive this award:

It’s okay if tags and awards aren’t your thing. No one should feel obligated to do this tag unless they want to.

My eleven questions for those tagged

  1. What is your favourite bookish trope?
  2. What is your favourite song / album / playlist right now?
  3. What has been your favourite read of 2020 so far?
  4. If you could live for a day in the world of any book what book would you choose?
  5. Pizza or pasta?
  6. What are your feelings on loaning books to friends and family?
  7. How do you feel about writing in books, or purposefully breaking book spines, or dog-earring pages?
  8. Which do you find easier to write, a book review for a five star rated book or one for a one star rated book?
  9. What is the post you are most proud of on your blog? Share a link to it.
  10. If someone was starring in the film of your life, who would you cast as you?
  11. Novelty socks or novelty t-shirts?

  1. Ooh, thanks for tagging me! ❤ I can’t wait to do this! 😊 And I totally relate to the tea thing lol. I always ask my friends to fill up any spare space in their suitcases with Earl Grey whenever they’re on vacation in Britain 😁 It just tastes tons better there than anywhere else!

  2. Emer, stop. This is too perfect. Thank you for being so kind and making me laugh!! You are one of my favorite people on the whole internet. (Also, you tagged me for something in March, so yay! Procrastination twins!)

How…dare you mock astrology and understandably-bad American tea? This is un-American.

Is it possible you ARE Rose from Titanic? Is that a thing?

Rice Krisipies are a great sick food! It’s just true!

This was very fun! Thank you for humoring me!

    1. IS SOMEONE CUTTING ONIONS? Or maybe it’s the hay fever…. MY EMOTIONS 😭😭😭 💙💖💖💙💖💙💙💖
But you’re right. I just am the best person on the internet really, can’t deny it! And you’re just so privileged to get to read all my most fascinating and deeply insightful thoughts so you’re welcome for that gift 🎁 #humble
Hmmm I’ve never been painted like one of Leo’s French girls… perhaps this is the path to getting the hat of my dreams… and I wouldn’t say no to the snazzy diamond either… WHY WOULD SHE THROW IT OFF THE BOAT?? I would’ve cashed that baby in and bought ALL of the books! 😂😂😂

    1. Cereal is the best. It’s the perfect meal for any time of the day 😂😂😂😂 AND OMG I AM OBSESSED WITH THAT HAT! I love hats. I wish I had more occasion to wear hats. And more I really mean any! The only hat I’ve worn is when I graduated uni. Well not including woolly hats in the winter. I just want to wear big, glamorous hats! LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER WITH AN OVERSIZED HAT 😂😂😂😂

  3. Ooh I kind of love the idea of meeting celebrities at an award show but I’d never in a million years cope with the crowds. And I’ve never been to America but I do have a feeling that you’re right about their tea. I was told the other day about someone from there saying something about microwaving the water and only dunking the tea bag for a second?? Like wtf. I like to taste my tea, not just drink milky water 😂😂 ooh plus if you take your own you can make sure it’s a nice tasting brand. I’m sorry about your illness, I’ve seen it mentioned before but never know what to say. I can see why cereal would be a go to food though as it’s easy to prepare. My go to food when I’ve been I’ll (usually a few hours after I’ve been sick due to a migraine and can’t face the thought of eating much but need to or my head will get even worse) is pasta with salt. It’s one of the plainest things I can think of as I don’t like toast 😅

    1. OMG I HAVE SEEN THE MICROWAVING OF TEA AND I OBJECT WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING!!! I happen to be drinking tea as I respond to all my blog comments this morning lol :)))

And thanks Charlotte. Being chronically ill sucks but it’s my normal now. So I’m okay talking about how it impacts me. It’s fine though, I know it’s a weird one to talk about. It’s one of the reasons that I love blogging because I can be an own voices reviewer for books with chronic illness rep and can help to highlight what is and isn’t right…. but also blogging gives me a sense of connection to the outer world. I don’t get out that much due to my illness so staying connected to other people and creating friendships through books and blogging is so amazing! I get to be this person that isn’t limited by her body’s foibles :))))) xoxox

      1. I quite often drink tea whilst doing blog catch up too 😅
That’s very true about being able to highlight what is and isn’t right in that type of representation. Aww I’m glad that you’re able to connect to people through your blog 💕
